Mncube is a multi-award-winning regular columnist at The Witness newspaper and a guest columnist at News24 and LitNet. With 24 years of experience in media, journalism, and content writing, he has contributed to various newspapers, including the Sunday Times, Mail & Guardian, Daily News, The Mercury, Sunday Tribune, and Sowetan. He is a frequent political commentator on ENCA, 702, SAFM, Power FM, and SABC Channel 404. His writing focuses on politics, education, tourism, transport, and security.
He won the 2024 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Award and the 2020 regional Vodacom Journalist of the Year Award for column/editorial writing.

In the private sector, Mncube’s leadership roles as the Public Relations Officer at MTN and later as Managing Director of B74 Media Lab PR Agency demonstrated his ability to deliver top-notch media and communication advisory services. His clientele included notable entities such as the European Union Delegation to South Africa, the Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism (KZN), and South African Breweries, among others. He wrote over 100 SEO articles for companies in India, Bangladesh, and the United States of America during this period.
Mncube’s prowess in content creation and strategic communication propelled him to significant roles in the public sector, such as the Media Liaison Officer at the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, focusing on speechwriting and media management. He served as the Director of Media Liaison and PR at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education and the Department of Transport, where he acted as the spokesperson and speechwriter for the respective MECs.
